Somatic Movement and Sound Bath

  • Truleigh Centre Warren Valley Farm BN43 5FB United Kingdom (map)

Nestled in the hills of the South Downs, near Shoreham, West Sussex, is a beautiful, secluded barn with stunning views stretching down to the sea, where we will be gathering for a day of movement, sound and nourishment.

The theme of the retreat will centre around embodiment. Through movement inquiry, we’ll explore the riches and depths of what it means to feel embodied - how conscious somatic awareness tunes our sense of Self and our relationship with the world.

This is an inclusive day retreat open to anyone curious about how the body shapes the mind.

Helen is an experienced somatic practitioner with a specialist interest in fascia-informed movement to support:

✨ Interoceptive awareness (the felt sense of our body, which is associated with consciousness, embodiment, wellbeing and emotional regulation)

✨ Deep awareness of bodily connections, pathways, patterns, textures, rhythms and spiral organisation that gives rise to a felt sense of wholeness, integration and agency and fosters:

✨ Healthy posture

✨ Range of motion

✨ Tissue glide and elasticity

✨ Energy efficiency

✨ Mobility, stability, agility and strength

✨ A curious, compassionate, joyful approach to exploring your body through movement.

Our fascial matrix (the body-wide, multidimensional connective tissue that forms our bodily structure, shape, volume, and sensory interface) emits, transmits, and responds to frequencies. To close our day, sound bath practitioner Emma will lead us through an immersive sound experience featuring singing bowls, gongs, and percussion, leaving you feeling deeply restored and revived.

Refreshments and a home-cooked lunch will be provided.
